Break out your glitter and stick some stars on your face, we're going full-on glam this week as author, artist and performer Robert Dayton (Cold Glitter: The Untold Story Of Canadian Glam) brings us Vancouver, Canada's Sweeney Todd and their 1975 self-titled debut. The band had a revolving door of members throughout the years - including a 16 year old Bryan Adams at one point - but this version with singer Nick Gilder and guitarist Jim McCulloch is the one that started it all...

Originally from Fort St. John, British Columbia, Robert Dayton is a multi-disciplinary artist, writer, performer, and comedian. His previous book The Empty Bed published by Impulse[b] is a pen-and-ink humor book about heartbreak. He hosts the monthly Birthday Experience variety show at The Elysian Vault and the Uh Oh Canadia screening series at Whammy. As The Canadian Romantic, a character that he has been doing since 2010, he manifests as a series of videos, live performances, a doll, an art book, and a winking photo to make people in Canada and everywhere feel more attractive. His collaborative musical performance and recording projects include song-and-dance duo Canned Hamm, the 'no two shows the same' multi-piece July Fourth Toilet, acid-downer-folk group Points Gray, and Romantic Glam band Hallmark. He has acted in independent movies, including one called “Male Fantasy.” He has been a muse to such diverse artists as Destroyer and Tonetta, who have each written songs about him with such titles as "Canadian Lover." He holds an MFA from The University of Waterloo.
