Shedding their noise-rock roots - their first few releases were recorded by Steve Albini - for a more alternative arena rock sound, their major-label debut combines a tongue-in-cheek irony with a weirdly appealing sense of rock and roll fun.

Karl Ueberbacher has somehow managed to pay his bills with a career resume spanning sports journalism, public relations, and record store ownership. As a former sports writer and editor, he covered the Hartford Whalers during their NHL tenure, developing a deep understanding of sports media. He later shifted into public relations within the auto racing industry, including PR duties at the Indianapolis 500. For the past 25 years, Karl has combined his passion for music and entrepreneurship as the owner and operator of the legendary Phoenix Records. He is also an active musician, having played in the punk bands Shrieking Void of Emptiness (SVOE) and 3 Finger Demon.
