The Noisy is a Philly-based dream pop/synth soft rock band. Their new deluxe album, The Secret Ingredient is Even More Meat, is out now via Audio Antihero (Frog, Magana, Avery Friedman, CIAO MALZ).

Fronted by poet Sara Mae (they/them), The Noisy has built a loyal following in Philadelphia’s music scene, but also in drag and fashion, collaborating with artists like Miss Thing, Avery Goodname (Camp Wannakiki), Wet Betty, and Jasmine Schulte (designer for Mannequin Pussy, Pom Pom Squad) for music video cameos, live variety show performances, and countless fabulous looks. This blend of music, performance art and queer nightlife make The Noisy a visual experience as much as a sonic one.

In spring 2023, The Noisy released “Morricone” with a Strega Nona-meets-Clint Eastwood music video and launched a successful crowdfunding campaign for their debut album, The Secret Ingredient is More Meat, produced by Jacob Lawter (Slow and Steady) and in collaboration with Josh Sorrells (Easy Does it), Ash Baker (Bugs Baker), and Nyleen Perez (Pueblo Now) . More Meat received praise from WXPN, Post-Trash, and The Alternative, with The Noisy performing tracks from the record at iconic venues like Union Transfer, Knoxville’s World’s Fair Park, Radio Room, and PhilaMOCA.

The current lineup features Sara Mae Henke, Nate Kim (Glitterspitter), and Daniel Sohn (Daniel Sohn, Sunday Evening Drive). The band draws comparisons to Japanese Breakfast, Perfume Genius, and Chappell Roan. They are currently at work on their sophomore LP.
